Energy is used when water flows—without storing a tank of heated water.
ES-9
9 kW Whole-Home Electric Tankless Water Heater
For properly sized residential demand; capacity depends on inlet temperature, flow, and simultaneous fixtures. Wi-Fi enabled for remote temperature monitoring and control.
Engineered as a complete solution.
Every successful installation begins with the application and ends with verified performance.
Match incoming temperature and simultaneous GPM to the correct output.
Confirm electrical service, breakers, conductors, plumbing and installation requirements.
Approved documents, registration and warranty resources help protect the installation.

Installation Materials & Verification
Use this visual guide to identify the general type and quantity of major installation items. The approved manual, rating label and local code control the final installation.
Circuit protection
1 × 40A double-pole dedicated breaker • GFCI protected
Copper conductors
Minimum 8 AWG copper • 75°C minimum rating
Connection fittings
1/2-inch male NPT water inlet and outlet. Use correctly sized female NPT fittings to connect to male NPT heater ports where applicable.
Electrical
Dedicated overcurrent protection, copper conductors, grounding, disconnecting means, panel capacity, and any required GFCI protection must match the current approved manual and local code.
Plumbing
Operating requirement: 0.32 GPM activation • 2.9–87 PSI
Provide approved water shutoffs, correctly sized connections, pressure control where required, and adequate access for installation and service.
Temperature Rise & Sizing
Outlet temperature equals inlet temperature plus the heater’s estimated temperature rise at the selected flow. Compare every electric model in this series below, then use the sizing tool and current approved documents to confirm the application.
| Model | 0.5 GPM | 1 GPM | 1.5 GPM | 2 GPM | 2.5 GPM | 3 GPM | 4 GPM |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ES-9 | 123°F rise | 61°F rise | 41°F rise | 31°F rise | 25°F rise | 20°F rise | 15°F rise |
| ES-12 | 164°F rise | 82°F rise | 55°F rise | 41°F rise | 33°F rise | 27°F rise | 20°F rise |
| ES-14 | 191°F rise | 96°F rise | 64°F rise | 48°F rise | 38°F rise | 32°F rise | 24°F rise |
Planning reference calculated from rated electrical input, not a certified performance curve. Actual temperature rise varies with voltage, efficiency, inlet temperature, pressure, installation, and operating conditions. Confirm final sizing with approved manufacturer data.
Use the Sizing ToolWater and heating elements follow separate paths.
Move beyond exposed screw-plug elements
Drakken’s water-isolated heat-transfer design keeps the water path separated from the heating elements. The engineered exchanger transfers heat without relying on direct water-to-element contact or repeated flash heating at exposed elements.
This approach is designed to reduce dry-fire exposure, calcium contact at the elements, inconsistent outlet temperatures, and recurring screw-plug element replacement.
Five years of replacement confidence
Qualifying registered products are backed by a 5-year replacement warranty. After year five, coverage may be eligible for paid reactivation with Drakken approval under the current written warranty terms.
Proper sizing, licensed installation, registration, proof of purchase, and all published warranty requirements apply.
